Newport Bridal Show 1/30

We had an amazing (and busy!) wedding and bridal show weekend at Petals by Xavi. We were in Diamond Bar and Newport Beach  for bridal shows this past Sunday. Thanks to all the brides who came by the Newport Regency Hyatt and the Diamond Bar Country Club and saw our booths.  I thought I would highlight a specific color for all you brides who are using purple (or a form of it).

To highlight one of the pieces in our Hyatt Regency bridal show, our tall arrangement was a hit with so many brides!  It featured cream and lavender roses, with white hydrangea and purple stock. Glass votives hanging with white cymbidium orchids gave this arrangement a modern and sophisticated feel. Small lights illuminated the vases to give the orchid an extra little pop.

Purple arrangements utilizing tonal arrangements are beautiful when working with flowers with purple blooms because there are so many shades and textures available to blend. Also, contrasting colors for purple flowers are in the yellow family. This combination will put the spot light on your flowers and highlight all that rich color. For example, for a summer wedding, blending the cool tone of Lupine and the warm color of Sunflowers will amplify each individual color while highlighting the best of the summer season. Using the more earthy tones of purple with brown yellows would be perfect for a fall wedding or a rustic outdoor celebration.

Purple is the color used by kings and queens for centuries to denote their majestic standing. While you may not be descended from royal bloodlines, adding flowers with purple blooms to your ceremony will certainly bring some of that royal treatment to your wedding.

If purple is your wedding color, we have lots of ideas for you, as well as other colors so stay tuned for more pictures and posts.  If you haven't met with us yet, give us a call for your free consultation!  This is an exciting time for any bride and we would love the opportunity to get excited with you and share some wonderful ideas to put your vision into reality!!

Featured Venue: The Pantheon Mansion

Wedding planning season is in full swing at Petals by Xavi!  To highlight the planning process, let us introduce you to one of our favorite parts of the planning process...the second design session!  This is such an exciting and fun part to the planning of your wedding!  Here is where we really help put your perfect vision into a reality!

One of our brides, Shelly is getting married at the Pantheon Mansion, a 15,000 square foot private mansion.  We met her there to tour the grounds and discuss the florals for her August wedding. Beautiful does not do this venue justice. More like exquisite! Breath-taking! One of a kind! Approximately 15,000 square feet, this luxury estate holds an air of opulence and grace like no other. Arched hallways, marble floors, intricate crown molding and baseboards, pool and party pavilion and seventy two olives trees throughout the property further the ambiance of this Tuscan estate. Not to mention breath taking aerial views of the Santa Ana mountains. This venue is perfect for any bride and groom wanting a private party in a gorgeous setting. Shelly and her fiance Chase are excited to host their 300 guests at this amazing private mansion to celebrate their big day.

Stay tuned for more onsite design updates and contact Petals by Xavi if you have any questions about this venue or are interested in more info.

Happy planning!

A white wedding....

Here is a sample of a very beautiful wedding I did this past year.  I had such a blast with this color palate.  I get to work with a lot of fun and different ideas for colors, florals and layouts for weddings.  This wedding was so classic and elegant.  This bride picked a traditional white dress and her color was champagne.  Many people shy away from all white flowers for a multitude of reasons.  I personally love them.  This wedding was an outdoor affair which complimented the florals.  White florals go with everything!  If you are having a hard time deciding what colors to go with, white with touches of green is a beautiful choice!

The Knot Party

Industry parties are always sooooo much fun! One of the best parties PBX is always invited to attend is The Knot Party. This year it was held at the beautiful Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. My girls and I had an amazing time networking, eating DELICIOUS food, drinking wine, and catching up on all the exciting happenings at PBX.

Our evening began in the ohhhh so cool Shutter Booth! Here is the result...

Don't we look cute?!? I love the idea behind Shutter Booth, they add such an element of FUN to any event!!
For more info visit their website: www.shutterbooth.com

The decor was to die for! Kuddos to the planners and the vendors who set up amazing stations throughout the venue. Swanky lounge furniture, a hookah lounge, a cupcake bar (my FAV!!), vibrant centerpieces, and linens set a tone that was not too stuffy yet very chic. The DJ spun an homage to Michael Jackson (which we all HAD to dance to) and MC'd the entire night with tons of giveaways and prizes! It was such a treat to be able to hang out with the best of the best in the industry. Going to events like The Knot Party remind me of why I love doing what I do. I feel so happy and blessed to have the staff that I have and to be in an industry that revolves around making peoples dreams come true!

XOXO

All About PBX...

On New Year’s Eve of 2001 in a quaint lakeside cafĂ© in Queen’s Town New Zealand, my husband asked me to spend the rest of my life with him.  As soon as I grasped what he was proposing, I said yes and spent the next six months of my life designing, planning, and strategizing every detail of my wedding.  I often joke that my wedding was not a wedding, but rather, my very own princess party (with butterflies and all).  On July 13, 2002 my wedding was not only one of the most beautiful days of my life; but also the launching point for my career, my aspirations and my passion.

Many people thought I was making a big mistake because after my wedding I didn’t return to medical school, rather took my new found passion and creativity, love and joy, organizational skills and a gift for working with people and started my own wedding company.  Designing unique and beautiful weddings that reflect my couple’s own personal styles makes my job very rewarding.  It makes me proud of the work I do and reminds me every day that I made the right choice in choosing to pursue a career in the wedding industry.

Today, Petals by Xavi is one of the most sought-after event coordination companies in Southern California, my team of coordinators and I have been responsible for meticulously planned weddings and flawlessly orchestrated events.  We are known for our commitment to exceed our clients' expectations and have created intimate weddings and extravagant upscale affairs for a long list of clients, including some of Hollywood's A-listers.  My passion for the industry has opened many doors in the world of weddings,  including numerous television appearances on morning shows, including the Tyra Bank’s show, becoming a contributing writer to many of the major wedding magazines and becoming a lead advisor for Atlantic Publishing, a publisher for many leading wedding planning books.  I take pride in the continuing growth of my company.  What began with a few weddings and a staff of two is quickly becoming a one of the Southern California’s premiere wedding and special event companies with a committed and dedicated staff.

Now that I have introduced myself and my company,  let me tell you how excited I am to have this blog! Here you will find ideas, pictures, a showcase of our events, stories about our couples, and all things pretty for your special day.  It is my hope that you will leave my blog IN-awe and IN-spired by what you see and read!

Warm Wedding Wishes,

Xavi
